About Miles Corwin

Miles Corwin has covered culture and design for fifteen years, the kind of beat that never really ends. He writes about the decisions inside the work: why a typeface gets chosen, why a building turns its shoulder to the street, why some rooms make people quiet down without being told to.

He is the type to read the footnotes, ask the second question, and take the long way to a museum on purpose. Design, to him, is never really finished. It just reaches a moment where someone has to call it done and let it be seen.

That tension shows up in his writing too. An article is never really finished, but something has to hit print before the cutoff. Notes is where he works that out in public: short dispatches on culture, design, and the craft of making things well.

Writes about: Design criticism · Brand identity · Typography · Cultural commentary · Editorial craft
